Fall 2020

Friday, August 14, 2020 by Tricia Hexter | Uncategorized

Phew! That was a long day of working on the schedule! I wanted to clarify a few things. One, this is not TUTORING. This is an hour and a half of instructional time in a small group. We will cover topics that are in the GPPS curriculum and support their learning for the current year. We will also address the emotional and social needs as we see fit. We will discuss organizational skills to support their new virtual learning and how to handle all of that. This hour and a half will be like a mini school while they are here. We will have fun, learn, work together, and meet needs based on our assessment.

***If you are not happy with your child's placement, please contact me immediately so we can address scheduling needs.

I have NOT made this calendar public yet. The only people who can see this calendar are the people who have filled out the Fall 2020 Commitment Interest Form. If you like what you see, you can secure your spot by paying for your level of commitment in full. I did put everyone on the calendar until December just in case you decided to change your mind if you chose the 1 month or 2 month option. This is the LAST CALL for those spots before it goes public. Since we are just about full and I have not made it public, I am certain those spots will be taken, so just make sure, one last time, that you are happy with your choice.

I am so happy to have the opportunity to work with small groups of kids in person! We will continue to take extreme caution so we can remain open. Please make sure you children stay home if they are feeling under the weather.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns!

Thank you and I am looking forward to a great start to the year at GPI4L!

Podcast

Wow! Today marks the end of the first official session held at GPI4L! I just can't believe it. It has been a whirl wind of amazing emotions! I have loved every single second I have spent in my little building. Smack in the middle of me trying to teach summer school online, hold a virtual reading group, buy and renovate a building and build a business, I was invited to be on a podcast of a fabulous local mom who has a blog and podcast. I wanted to share the link which highlights how I got here.

I certainly wouldn't be here without you and your amazing kids. What an absolute joy it is to have a place where kids feel safe, loved, and heard so they can learn free the barriers of stress. I look forward to creating more courses, servicing more kids, and keeping the program thriving with new content and the energy it takes to engage kids daily. Thank you for being part of this journey with me.

First Day!

Tuesday, July 14, 2020 by Tricia Hexter | First Day!

Well, today was the day! We had our FIRST group in our newly renovated space, and boy, was it great! I am super excited with how the building is turning out. We still have more to do, but we got it ready enough to open. From now on, when you drive down Mack Ave and you are between Lincoln and Fisher, check out the green doors on the building. You can't miss them! Thank you to the families who were there for my first day! Your support means the world to me.

Disinfecting went as planned and scheduled! I am very pleased with knowing that the space is thoroughly disinfected after each group. We will continue this service for as long as needed.

I plan on doing some pop up groups for those that want to come in, but not commit to the 4 week core content course. I must say, we packed a lot into an hour and a half, yet the kids were surprised when I told them it was time to leave! See? Time flies when learning is fun!

Check out the pictures  I posted in the gallery and be sure to follow us on Instagram and Facebook at GP Institute for Learning or @GPI4L. Hp[e to see you soon!
